Tampa Bay Rays base hits helped make a difference across Florida
October 20, 2026

Success can be measured in many ways. For 12 local nonprofit organizations, success this season came one Tampa Bay Rays base hit at a time thanks to Every Hit is a Win with Suncoast program.
Every time a Rays player recorded a base hit during the regular season, $79 was added to a community impact fund—$1 representing each of Suncoast Credit Union’s Florida branches.
Each month, two nonprofits went head-to-head for their share of the proceeds through an online vote on Suncoast’s website. The organization receiving the most votes earned the larger portion of the funds at the end of the month.
“This program has made a meaningful difference in communities across the Suncoast footprint,” said Bob Hyde, vice president of community impact for Suncoast Credit Union. “We're thrilled with this year's success and grateful to the nonprofits, community members and Rays fans who helped make it possible. Congratulations to everyone who participated!”
During a home game on Sept. 20, the Rays recognized the nonprofits that participated in the 2026 season.
Through programs like Every Hit Is a Win, Suncoast supports nonprofit organizations across Florida, helping strengthen the communities it serves through charitable giving, volunteerism and community partnerships.
Here’s a breakdown of the organizations that benefited from this year’s program:
