How to Opt Out of Prescreened Offers of Credit
Why You're Receiving These Offers
When you apply for a mortgage or preapproval, you may notice an increase in unsolicited calls, emails, or letters from other lenders. These are known as prescreened or pre-approved offers of credit. They are triggered by a credit inquiry and are based on information in your credit report that suggests you meet certain criteria set by creditors. Important: These offers are not sent by Suncoast Credit Union. Your information is not being sold or shared by us.

How It Works
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis) are allowed to include your name on lists used by creditors or insurers to make firm offers of credit or insurance. These offers are legal and can sometimes help you compare financial products.
However, if you prefer not to receive them, you have the right to opt out.
