Suncoast Credit Union and Launch Credit Union are officially moving forward in the planned merger following all of the necessary approvals. As one unified credit union this partnership brings together a community focused mindset to better serve members and communities across Florida.

By pooling our resources and expertise, we can unlock more value for members, enhance tools for our employees, and achieve more together for the community than we ever could individually.

Like Suncoast, they are mission-driven and operate with a "member-first" philosophy, ensuring that everything they do is with the member in mind. Yes, 100%. Both Boards of Directors are fully on board and excited about the benefits this "win-win" partnership brings to members, employees, and our communities. Launch Credit Union members voted in the final approval to move the merger forward officially on September 1st, 2026.

Absolutely. Both credit unions are committed to remaining member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperatives. This merger allows us to grow responsibly while staying true to our mission of putting members first.

• Suncoast Members: No changes are planned for you. Consider it business as usual. You will continue using the same account numbers, checks, and access methods.
• Launch Credit Union Members: Now that the merger is officially approved we will work toward full integration and Launch members will transition to Suncoast systems and services. Kevin Johnson, Suncoast’s President and CEO with over 40 years of Suncoast leadership, will continue to lead the combined organization.

We are retaining the name Suncoast Credit Union. For a short period after the legal merger, existing Launch Credit Union branches will be designated as “Launch Credit Union, a branch of Suncoast Credit Union.”. An official name change for those branches will occur closer to the full system integration.

Now that we have received approval from the Launch Credit Union members we are moving towards our full operational integration continuing throughout 2027.

Launch Credit Union members were able to vote to give final approval.

Launch Credit Union members have approved the merger with Suncoast Credit Union, clearing the way for the organizations to move forward with Legal Day 1 on September 1, 2026. This milestone reflects the members' support for bringing together two strong credit unions focused on serving Florida communities. 
 

No. There is nothing members need to do at this time. You can continue to use your accounts, cards, online banking, checks, and branch services as you do today. 

Legal Day 1 is when Launch Credit Union officially becomes part of Suncoast Credit Union legally. Most member services will continue operating as usual, and members will receive advance communication before any future changes occur. 

No immediate changes are planned for Launch or Suncoast members on Legal Day 1. Additional updates regarding future system integration will be communicated well in advance.
