Suncoast employees at the community impact awards 2022

Giving back is what we do! Since our team is so active with volunteering, we created the Suncoast Community Impact Awards to spotlight team members who really go the extra mile for the community.

Here are the six incredible award winners:

Carolyn Parslow LEGACY Award

Our top honor is the Carolyn Parslow LEGACY award, named after a past Suncoast employee who spent almost 50 years as a Suncoast team member. Carolyn’s caring heart set the standard for creating the giving culture that continues at Suncoast all these years later.

Suncoast vice presidents nominate employees for the Carolyn Parslow LEGACY award based on:

Leads by example
Encourages and respects others
Gives through acts of kindness, volunteering, and mentoring
Applies “bring your heart to work”
Commits to always doing the right thing
You, making an impact

The winner of the Carolyn Parslow LEGACY award in 2022 was Sandra Wright, an Assistant Service Center Manager for our Hillsborough Ave. branch.

Sandra volunteers a ton for the local community and is also part of the leadership team of our Black Leaders and Allies Cultivating Change employee resource group. The world is better with Sandra in it!

Excellence in Financial Education Award

Life is easier and much less stressful with a good understanding of finances. We offer free financial presentations to schools, organizations, and businesses throughout the community to help them learn how to manage their money and improve their financial lives.

Two team members won the 2022 Excellence in Financial Education Award for helping the community improve their financial habits. The winners were Gissell Herrera, a Care Center Development Facilitator, and Ashley Espinal, a Senior Facilitator.

Peer Choice Award

For the Peer Choice awards, four winners were chosen by their peers at Suncoast, each from a different area of our footprint. These award winners showed exemplary acts of service, meaningful impact in the community, and a remarkable level of commitment.

Our 2022 Peer Choice award winners were Courtney Kelley, a Senior Direct Loan Processor, Tonya Kalosis, a Service Center Manager in Charlotte Harbor, Caitlin Morejon, a Care Center Development Facilitator, and once again, Sandra Wright.

Thank you to all of our award winners, we look forward to seeing the beautiful things you’ll achieve in the future!
