A Smart Start certificate is like a share certificate, but with a lower initial deposit requirement of $50 instead of $500. Following the initial deposit, you’ll need to contribute a minimum of $40 per month for 12 months through payroll deduction or automatic transfer. Once you have saved $500, you can transfer the funds to a traditional certificate account.

Instead of you having to make the $50 opening deposit, we’ll cover it for you! Shortly after you sign up for this promotion, we'll be emailing you your special promo code. Then, you’ll head to your nearest Suncoast location and show this special code to one of our Member Advocates. Your Member Advocate will guide you through the process of opening your Suncoast membership, which includes setting up a share savings account (with just a $5 minimum deposit). Then they'll open your Smart Start certificate and deposit your first $50 into it. 

You’ll need to commit to a minimum $40 monthly payment to your account, but the sky is the limit! $40 per month for 12 months will get you to the $500 minimum deposit required to roll over to a traditional Share Certificate. But the more you contribute, the more you’ll be able to roll over to a new, high-yield certificate!
