With no real reason to exist, The Encore Collection nonetheless rounds up many SWV hits, such as "Right Here," "I'm So Into You," "Weak," "Use Your Heart," and "Rain." Even if it were the only SWV anthology, it wouldn't be representative of the group at all, since it leaves out a number of significant chart entries ("Someone," "Can We," "You're the One"). The succinct Platinum & Gold Collection is much more effective, and Best of SWV is ideal for listeners who want to go a little deeper than the singles. The proper albums are too spotty to be worth considering.
