This delightful pairing brings together Miles Davis' 'Round About Midnight album, which was recorded between October 1955 and September 1956 and introduced John Coltrane as part of Davis' quintet, and the masterful Sketches of Spain, recorded between November 1959 and March 1960, in one package. Dedicated Davis fans will already have both of these releases, however, and most likely in the later editions that included bonus tracks, so this is a set best serving an introductory listener, but wow, what a wonderful world to be introduced to. Welcome to Miles country.
