Decca's Classical Confections features some of classical and film music's most romantic compositions, including Nino Rota's "Speak Softly Love he Godfather" and "Romeo and Juliet: Love Theme," Massenet's "Meditation haïs" and Lecuona's "Siboney." Opera is well-represented on the album by pieces like Luciano Pavarotti's rendition of DiLazzaro's "Chitarra Romana" and Placido Domingo's version of DiCurtis' "Non Ti Scordar Di Me." Other highlights include "Love Theme (A Summer Place)," "Moonlight Serenade" and "Te Amo." Even though it's not exactly a definitive collection of romantic classical, opera, film music and vocal pop, Classical Confections is a pleasant enough compilation of a variety of romantic mood music. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
